NFL Weeks 1–2 Recap

The Highlights
Two weeks into the season and fantasy chaos is already here. We’ve seen clutch comebacks, breakout moments, and injuries already reshaping lineups. Some of what stood out:
- Josh Allen (QB, BUF) dominated Week 1 with a 38+ fantasy outing in a comeback win over the Ravens. He came back down to earth with just an 11+ point outing in Week 2 against the paltry 0-2 Jets. Allen and the Bills are 2-0 to start the season and will host the Miami Dolphins in Buffalo later tonight for Thursday Night Football.
- Justin Herbert (QB, LAC) guided the Chargers to a 20-9 win over the Raiders in Week 2's MNF game. Through 2 games the Charges are 2-0. Herbert looks composed, efficient, and confident in his reads.
- Am0n-Ra St. Brown (WR, DET) the "sun god" Amon-Ra went off in Week 2 against the Bears as the Lions pounced back after taking a loss to the Packers in Week 1. Scoring 30+ fantasy points after an underwhelming Week 1 showing, Amon-Ra reminded fantasy managers why they drafted him in the 1st round. They face the stout Ravens defense on MNF.
Stalwarts & Laggards
Two weeks in, we’ve got the guys you can trust (stalwarts) and the ones testing your patience already (laggards).
Stalwarts
- James Cook III (RB, BUF) — James "Let Him" Cook III cheffed up 18+ and 26+ fantasy points respectively.
- Saquon Barkley (RB, PHI) — With back to back 16+ point outings in the first two games was there any doubt he would be on our Stalwarts list again?
- Justin Herbert (QB, LAC) — impressive showing, efficient and consistent. Best of all, no interceptions through 2 games. I know I know it's still early.
Laggards
- Joe Burrow (QB, CIN) — struggled early, then suffered turf toe in Week 2. He’s now on IR and out for at least three months according to ESPN sources.
- C.J. Stroud (QB, HOU) — underwhelming, little fantasy value so far. Texans are 0-2 and Stroud does not look good to start the season. To be fair neither does the rest of the team.
- Isiah Pacheco (RB, KC) — what if I told you before the season that after two weeks Pacheco would be under 50 rushing yards with 0 TDs, you’d have called me crazy, right? Yet here we are:15-47 rushing (3.1 YPC), 0 TD; 3-10 receiving. Volume’s been light and KC’s offensive game is stuck in the mud, but Week 3 at the Giants (with their shaky run defense) is a bounce-back spot. I’m holding and starting as a flex with upside if Kansas City finally leans on the run.
Injuries to Monitor
Injuries are already shaping the 2025 fantasy landscape. Here’s what to watch:
- Xavier Worthy (WR, KC) — dislocated shoulder in Week 1. Out since the opener, timeline TBD per sources.
- Joe Burrow (QB, CIN) — turf toe in Week 2, placed on IR. Expected out at least three months.
- Jayden Daniels (QB, WAS) – knee injury, likely sitting against the Raiders in Week 3 per sources.
Tweet of the Week
A wholesome way to draft, something to consider for next year's drafts.
𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: This Fantasy Football league has gone viral for having WOMEN draft all the players and then the men manage the teams.

The Bottom Line
Two weeks down, and fantasy is already unpredictable. Injuries are stacking up, waiver wires are heating up, and scoring trends may push value toward RBs.
